The institute is launching the ‘VBHI Conference Series’, a series of conferences connecting vascular brain health experts! For this 1st conference, the institute will welcome Pr Hee-Joon BAE.

Prof. Hee-Joon BAE

Professor of Neurology, Seoul National University College of Medicine, attending Neurologist, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and Head of the Gyeonggi Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Center Seoul, South Korea, Prof. Bae’s research covers various aspects of stroke medicine, including:

  • acute stroke treatment,
  • stroke epidemiology,
  • the development of stroke care systems, and
  • the investigation of vascular cognitive impairment.

His work focuses on bridging gaps in clinical practice and improving patient outcomes through innovative research and collaborative networks.

Prof. Bae is committed to enhancing outcomes of stroke victims including cognitive outcomes and advancing our understanding of stroke genetics and brain health. He continues to push the boundaries of stroke medicine and aims to translate these research findings into practice for patient care.

Author of over 300 peer-reviewed journal articles (Google Scholar Indices: h-index 67, i10-index 256), he received the David G. Sherman Award, AHA/ASA, in 2022 and the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Health and Medical Technology by the Prime Minister of Korea, in 2022.
