As part of Brain Awareness Week, VBHI is hosting an evening on stroke and dementia prevention on Tuesday 24 March at 6:00 pm at the cinema UGC Ciné Cité Bordeaux. Discover small vessel disease, a lesser-known cause of stroke and dementia that is the focus of much research into prevention.
What is small vessel disease? Why is it important in the fight against stroke and dementia?
In a friendly, interactive setting, come and meet two cerebrovascular health experts and a patient to better understand small vessel disease, its role in stroke and dementia, and the latest research developments.
- Professor Igor Sibon, Acting Director of VBHI, will explain what small vessel disease is and why it matters for the prevention of stroke and dementia.
- Dr Claire Peghaire, member of the VBHI – Interdisciplinary Catalyser development programme, will discuss potential therapeutic approaches to tackle small vessel disease.
- Mr Jean-Jacques Rouin, a patient living with small vessel disease, will share his personal experience and his involvement in research.
Ask your questions, engage directly with the speakers, and leave with practical insights to take action!
