After four years of private practice as a dental surgeon, Salomé decided to resume her studies to pursue a career in research, driven by a strong interest in this field. She obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health, specializing in biostatistics, during which her internships focused on brain aging and its risk factors at the Bordeaux Population Health research center. She is currently pursuing her PhD there under the supervision of Cécilia Samieri, focusing on the Nutrition-Microbiota-Gut-Brain axis. The aim of her research is to identify microbial signatures associated with early brain alterations contributing to brain aging, using omics approaches, and to characterize dietary patterns that support the health of this axis as potential preventive interventions.
Salomé stands out for her boundless passion: a great music enthusiast, she has a clear soft spot for Avril Lavigne, Tip Stevens, and Avenged Sevenfold. She also spends a large part of her free time playing video games (God of War, Splatoon…), and could happily live on cheese every day without ever getting tired of it.
