The VBHI Institute welcomes you – explore our information and resources dedicated to vascular brain health: research, innovation, prevention, care, training and all the latest news from the Institute.

About our website

A pioneer in the fight against the most common neurological diseases, the VBHI carries out four major activities to achieve its goal of preventing stroke and dementia and promoting healthy brain ageing:

  1. Precision public health approaches that take into account the diversity of people and the environment they live in.
  2. Scientific research aimed at elucidating the complex mechanisms of cerebrovascular diseases to develop and test new strategies for prevention and personalised, “precision,” therapies.
  3. New best practices and social and organisational innovation to reduce health inequalities localy and and worldwide.
  4. Novel and ambitious training programmes and outreach programmes, built off solid foundations in public health, data science and neuroscience.

The aim of this website is to share the Institute’s news and acitivities while raising awareness about cerebrovascular research as a means of preventing stroke and dementia and promoting healthy brain ageing.

A wealth of resources at your fingertips

Explore the VBHI website to find out more about its ecosystem. Its translational biomedical research activities facilitate exchange and overlap between fundamental and clinical research.

The VBHI will focus its efforts on understanding the mechanisms involved in the development of cerebrovascular disease and on assessing the efficacy and safety of new treatments directly with patients.

The VBHI’s unique mission is explained on the Our mission page.

The Vascular brain diseases page details what stroke and dementia are, and why we must prevent them and promote healthy brain ageing.

On this page, you can get to know the people who make up the VBHI via the Team page.
Researchers, engineers, statisticians, project managers, co-ordinators, administrators… all these professionals are essential to the development of the Institute. They share the same vision of working together for the common good.
