Pierre-Marie Preux is a neuroepidemiologist specialized in chronic diseases in low- and middle-income countries of the Global South.
For over three decades, his research has focused on the prevention and management of neurological diseases, particularly in Africa and Southeast Asia. He is the Director of the Institute of Epidemiology and Tropical Neurology and the EpiMaCT Unit (Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases in Tropical Areas U1094 Inserm U270 IRD) in Limoges.
Author of more than 470 indexed publications, he has led numerous research projects aimed at improving access to care. His involvement in the VBHI Institute perfectly aligns with his mission to reduce the burden of cerebrovascular diseases globally by sharing his knowledge and collaborating with experts from diverse fields.
