Julia PERRIER, Postdoctoral researcher in Pharmacoepidemiology

Trained in mathematics and then in epidemiology, Julia specialized in pharmacoepidemiology, with a particular interest in the evaluation of drugs recommended for secondary prevention of stroke. Her PhD thesis, entitled “Pharmacoepidemiologic evaluation of drugs for the secondary prevention of stroke,” aimed to better understand how these drugs are used and to assess their real-world effectiveness. Now a postdoctoral researcher, Julia is working on identifying drug repositioning opportunities for post-stroke depression, still driven by the goal of generating knowledge that can improve the management of brain disorders. This common thread—linking data, drugs, and patient outcomes—gives full meaning to her presence at the VBHI institute.

While she may not have succeeded in getting everyone in the office to agree on Céline Dion, Julia did win unanimous acclaim by taking first prize in the “Thesis in 180 Seconds” competition at the Congress of the French Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics… delivering her presentation entirely through French song!
