Jean-Sébastien LIEGEY, Vascular neurologist and research physician at the RHU SHIVA

Jean Sebastien Liegey is a vascular neurologist and research physician at the RHU SHIVA.

His clinical work at Bordeaux University Hospital is split between the neurovascular unit, the cardiovascular diseases department and the neurodegenerative diseases institute.

He is the winner of a hospital-based clinical research programme (PHRC-I ECOPSEM) in collaboration with the Aquitaine Institute of Cognitive and Integrative Neuroscience (UMR5287) on mood disorders after stroke, and the author of publications relating to stroke management, vascular mood disorders and systemic inflammation. He holds a European Master’s degree in Neuroscience, the subject of which is structural alterations in cerebro-cerebellar networks in the stroke model and their relationship with mood disorders, and inter-university diplomas in neurovascular pathology and inflammatory pathology of the central nervous system.
