As a senior scientist at the Bordeaux Population Health research center (Inserm / Univ Bordeaux) and the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (Global Health in the Global South (GHiGS) team), Antoine Jaquet co-lead the VBHI – Global Vascular Brain Health Coalition flagship program.
His research focuses on the prevention of initially infectious and increasingly non-communicable diseases in the Global South, especially sub-Saharan Africa.
He currently acts as a program director/principal investigator of the International epidemiology Database to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) consortium in West Africa established in 2006 by the NIH (U01) to provide a rich resource for globally diverse HIV data. As part of this initiative, he oversees several projects on non-communicable diseases including neurocognitive disorders in West Africa through a prospective cohort in Senegal and Nigeria addressing determinants of brain aging and dementia in a large cohort of persons aging with HIV.
He is a member of the Institute’s Board of Directors.
